CenterPoint Energy to Perform Reliability Work
The City of Spring Valley Village just learned that CenterPoint Energy is scheduled to perform reliability work in the rear of the properties between Raylin and Merlin from Peck to Bingle. The work is scheduled to begin work May 14, 2021, with an estimated completion at the end of June 2021. The City learned this information on Thursday afternoon, May 13, 2021. The purpose of this work is to improve the reliability of the electrical network in this area. CenterPoint Energy crews will begin their work on trimming tree limbs within the easement in the rear of the property and then progress to replacement and upgrading of poles, wires, and transformers. The City has advised CenterPoint Energy of the noise restrictions within the City and that this work must comply with the City’s regulations. A map reflecting the limits of the project may be found attached and at this link:
CenterPoint’s contractor, MPT, will be handling the work, and the scope of work will be to trim trees along the easement, upgrade poles, wires, and transformers. Again, it is important to know that most of these electrical facilities are located within utility easements that are in the backyards of our residents. CenterPoint should notify you of work to be performed in a backyard easement area.
If you have questions or concerns about this CenterPoint project, please contact Pat Riley, Director of Public Works, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
