Waste Corporation of Texas (WCA Waste Corporation) is your residential garbage and recycling contractor. Beginning March 1, 2008, you will be billed a monthly rate of $14.84. Listed below are the services that will be provided:
1. Household garbage will be picked up on Tuesday and Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The service provided is curbside pickup which includes garbage placed in cans or bags. When a holiday falls on the garbage day, it will be picked up the next scheduled day.
2. Cans or Bags - Maximum Number and Weight. On Tuesday and Friday, regular garbage collection days, a maximum of ten (10) cans or bags will be picked up. The maximum weight of each can or bag shall not exceed sixty (60) pounds.
3. Tuesday and Friday are heavy trash pickup. Bulk items are considered those items other than household garbage or rubbish. Heavy trash items include such items as lumber, limbs, small furniture, etc. No item may weigh more than seventy-five (75) pounds or be more than four feet at its longest dimension. Loose items must be placed in bags or garbage cans. Lumber and limbs must be bundled and tied securely and not exceed the above dimensions. The maximum number of items that will be picked up is twenty-five (25). In addition, a special pickup of Christmas trees for recycling will be scheduled. The customer may call contractor to make arrangements for pickup of special items which are heavier or larger than bulk items and cannot be handled by a regular crew and truck. Cost for such service is negotiated between resident and contractor and is paid directly to contractor for this service. (Refrigerators will not be picked up.)
4. Friday is recycling day. The recycling must be placed at curbside for pickup. Acceptable Recyclable Items: Aluminum Cans, Steel or Bi-Metal Cans (Clean), Cardboard Box (Flattened), Newsprint (Placed in recycle bin or bundled), Plastic Soda Bottles (#1 or #2 Rinsed without caps), and Plastic Milk Bottles (#1 or #2 Rinsed without caps or lids). If you would like a recycle bin, call City Hall or come by and pick up a bin.
5. Unacceptable Items for Recycling: Glass, Pizza Boxes, Telephone Books, Polyfoam Cups, Plates and Packing Styrofoam Materials.
