Planning and Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Commission represents seven citizen volunteers who review proposed subdivision plans, replats of existing subdivisions, proposed building construction, and recommended changes to the Zoning Ordinance. Zoning Ordinance changes include tree protection ordinances, changes in minimum lot sizes, the ration of non-permeable improvement area to total lot area, building set back lines, commercial and residential use requirements, building construction requirements, and commercial parking ratio requirements. Meetings are once (or twice) per month, typically the second Monday at 6:30 p.m, and all citizens are encouraged to attend. Meeting dates are posted at City Hall and on the website. The Building Official can answer questions about the Zoning Ordinances, or provide a copy for a $12.00 fee.
